Resumo

O transporte de pessoas e cargas em terrenos irregulares e um problema no mundo todo. Essa pesquisa tem analisado os aspectos de locomocao de veiculos militares, agricolas, recreacionais, para busca e salvamento, usados em diferentes partes do mundo. O problema de transportar milhares de pessoas, em especial, trabalhadores rurais em paises agricolas, por curtas ou longas distancias atraves de terrenos com pouca ou nenhuma infraestrutura de rodovia ao longo do ano em todo tipo de clima, tem sido pesquisado. Os dados da pesquisa dos atuais veiculos fora de estrada tem possibilitado o desenvolvimento de especificacoes para o design de veiculos desse tipo.

Abstract

Transportation of people and freight over rough terrain is a problem throughout the world. This research has analyzed the locomotion aspects of military, agricultural, emergency and rescue, and recreational vehicles in different parts of the world. However the research has centered on the problem of transporting thousands of people, in particular rural workers in agricultural countries, over short and long distances across land that has little or no road infrastructure throughout the year, and in all types of weather. The research data of current off-road vehicles has led to the development of design specifications for this particular purpose.
