Resumo
O objetivo deste trabalho é discutir as relações entre humor e design gráfico, através do estudo das revistas curitibanas do início do século XX. Elas foram um espaço midiático de experimentação de linguagens, resgatando tradições orais e populares, reunindo fragmentos diversos da cultura. Evidenciam as mudanças técnicas e as novas percepções, rearticulando a tradição dos pasquins, o ecletismo e o art nouveau, a colagem, a montagem, as sobreposições e justaposições do modernismo. Essas revistas interagem com a construção do imaginário da época, no contexto das reformas e transformações urbanas, na fronteira entre o artesanal e a comunicação de massa.

Abstract
The aim of this work is to argue the relations between humour and graphic design, through the study of the brazilian magazines of the beginning of the 20th century. They had been an important media space of experience of languages, rescuing verbal and popular traditions, standing out the cultural diversity. They evidence the changes in techniques and the new perceptions, rewiewing the tradition of pasquins, academic drawing, the ecleticism and art nouveau, the collage, the assembly, the overlappings and juxtapositions of the modernism. These magazines dialogue and, at the same time, help to construct the imaginary one of the time, in the context of the urban reforms, in the frontier between artisan and the communication of mass.
