Taking an Environmental Information System as a case study, we discuss human-computer interaction on a social interacionist perspective. The fundaments of the Social Learning Theory proposed by Etienne Wenger as well as Cooperative Systems Analysis and Design are therefore explored. Discussion gives as a result five basic premisses to be considered when conceptually concieving an Environmental Information System.
