The critical analysis approach was the post-structuralist one, which seeks to review discourses explaining their universal, natural, and timeless assumptions. For that, we contextualize the formalist systems; we describe the method by which the analysis was performed; we present a synthesis of the identified characteristics and their connection with one of the formalist traditions presented by Michael Foucault in the book The Order of Things: An Archaeology of the Human Sciences (2000). As a basis for the analysis, a bibliographic review was carried out on projective fiction, speculative design and temporal perception. From this review, the selection criteria of the samples were extracted as well as the points of analysis to be observed. After the analysis we conclude that science fiction places the perception of time as a social issue, while the projective fiction puts the time as a matter of design.
