Considering as reference the levels of maturity of the environmental dimension of sustainability, the objectives are to study those maturity levels and to check which are more (or less) discussed in scientific articles related to fashion design and clothing production chain. For this purpose, we conducted literature review with unsystematic and systematic phases, focusing on the period from 2006 to 2016. The results suggest that most of the scientific work on fashion and sustainability in this period focus on the environmental improvement of flows along the chain supplies, the redesign of products or the design of intrinsically more sustainable products. Tendo como referência os níveis de maturidade da dimensão ambiental da sustentabilidade, os objetivos são: estudar os níveis de maturidade e verificar quais são mais (ou menos) abordados em artigos científicos relacionados ao design de moda e à cadeia produtiva de vestuário. Para tanto, foi realizada revisão bibliográfica com fases assistemática e sistemática, com foco no período de 2006 a 2016. As transition design is not yet consolidated and is little known in Brazil, this article aims, through a bibliographic review, to elucidate its theoretical and methodological bases of its theory and metodology, providing subsidies for the formation of a decolonial praxis of design for sustainability transitions. The review suggests the importance of dialogic and strategic roles in the transition design, which proposes new ways of thinking design. Furthermore, different design disciplines, segments, and approaches can contribute to developing future scenarios or interventions to achieve them, which require technological and social innovation.
