Patients and families spend a lot of time waiting to be seen, which particularly makes them prone to certain feelings. This fact negatively affects the overall service experience. This study used the WIB method (Wayfinding Informational Behavior) and the application case was the Instituto Nacional da Saúde da Mulher, da Criança e do Adolescente Fernandes Figueira, located in Rio de Janeiro - RJ. Through the results, it was found that the pediatric hospital space currently does not meet the main needs for spatial orientation and there are problems with the information system. The functional layout, flow organization and wayfinding design could improve the experience. Os pacientes e seus acompanhantes, geralmente, passam muito tempo esperando para serem atendidos, o que, particularmente, os tornam propensos a certos sentimentos. Fato este que afeta negativamente a experiência geral de atendimento. Este estudo utilizou o método WIB (Wayfinding Informational Behavior) e o caso de aplicação foi o Instituto Nacional da Saúde da Mulher, da Criança e do Adolescente Fernandes Figueira, localizado no Rio de Janeiro - RJ. Através dos resultados, constatou-se que o espaço hospitalar pediátrico, atualmente, não atende às principais necessidades de orientação espacial e há problemas com o sistema informacional. O layout funcional, organização do fluxo e wayfinding design poderiam melhorar a experiência.
