Resumo

A condição humana leva-nos a tentar classificar todas as nossas experiências e sensações, e como tal a perceção da cor não é uma exceção. Desde os antigos filósofos gregos que se tenta perceber o fenómeno da cor e, ao mesmo tempo, criar um sistema fiel de a representar. Até aos nossos dias foram muitas as tentativas, inúmeros os métodos utilizados e as formas apresentadas. Este trabalho pretende reunir algumas das mais importantes teorias relacionadas com a cor, esquematizando algumas das suas principais características, e servirá como ponto de partida para uma investigação mais aprofundada sobre a previsibilidade na reprodução da cor.

Abstract

Our human condition leads us to attempt to sort all our experiences and feelings, and therefore the perception of color is not an exception. From the ancient Greek philosophers that we try to understand the phenomenon of color and at the same time, create a system to represent it faithfully. Up to our days there have been many attempts, numerous methods and forms presented. This work intends to bring together some of the most important theories related to color, outlining some of their main features, and it will serve as a starting point for further research on the predictability in color reproduction..
