Resumo

O propósito deste artigo reside em uma análise preliminar acerca dos elementos sintáticos e semânticos contidos nos mapas da publicação impressa "The Atlas of Experience", dos cartógrafos holandeses Jean Klare e Louise van Swaaij (2001). O objetivo é explorar, por meio do estudo de caso vigente, o uso da linguagem convencional da cartografia como representação de conceitos abstratos e subjetivos, especificamente os sentimentos e as experiências humanas trazendo à tona a poética metafórica

Abstract

The purpose of this article lies in a preliminary analysis about syntatic and semantic elements contained in the print publicated maps of "The Atlas of Experience", of the Dutch cartographers Jean Klare and Louise Van Swaaij (2001). The goal is to explore, through current case study, the use of conventional language of cartography as representation of abstract and subjective concepts, specifically human feelings and experiences eliciting the metaphorical poetics.
