Resumo

Nos últimos anos, as intervenções do Design voltaram-se à solução de questões transversais, incluindo as sociais. Porém, a identificação da área como prática projetual de 'objetos do desejo' ainda é muito forte, principalmente pelo papel da mídia voltada ao mercado. Esse artigo traça reflexões sobre uma disciplina de Projeto que buscou discutir a função social do Design como prática de projeto para responder às demandas da comunidade, de forma colaborativa e integrada. Orientada por conceitos de Design Participativo e Codesign, a disciplina ocorreu de forma remota, devido à pandemia, o que permitiu explorar soluções em plataformas digitais para interação com os participantes. Os resultados apontam que estimular projetos participativos nos cursos de graduação que articulem teoria e prática, embora desafiador, pode contribuir para conscientizar sobre a importância de integrar outros participantes, com formação e experiências diversas, para gerar soluções viáveis em colaboração e com maior impacto social.

Abstract

In recent years, Design interventions have focused on solving transversal issues, including social ones. However, the identification of the area as a design practice of 'objects of desire' is still very strong, mainly due to the role of the media, focused on the market. This article reflects on a Design discipline that sought to discuss the social function of Design as a design practice to respond to community demands, in a collaborative and integrated way. Guided by concepts of Participatory Design and Co-design, the course took place remotely due to the pandemic, which allowed exploring solutions on digital platforms for interaction with the participants. The results indicate that stimulating participatory projects in undergraduate courses that articulate theory and practice, although challenging, can contribute to raising awareness of the importance of integrating other participants, with diverse training and experiences, to generate viable solutions in collaboration and with greater social impact.
