Resumo

A patinação está ganhando popularidade no Brasil como atividade física, recreação e lazer, sendo um esporte radical urbano. Essa prática reúne pessoas de diversas idades, gêneros e classes sociais. O uso de Equipamentos de Proteção Individual (EPIs) é recomendado para segurança, mas muitos praticantes os evitam devido a desconforto, estética e custo elevado. A produção nacional de EPIs é limitada, com muitos produtos sendo importados. Esta pesquisa identifica as razões para a resistência ao uso de EPIs entre patinadores, visando elaborar recomendações de design que atendam aos princípios de usabilidade: eficiência, eficácia e satisfação. A pesquisa foi realizada nas seguintes etapas: revisão bibliográfica, coleta de dados, análise de resultados e verificação.

Abstract

Skating is gaining popularity in Brazil as a physical activity, recreation, and leisure, being an urban extreme sport. This practice brings together people of various ages, genders, and social classes. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is recommended for safety, but many practitioners avoid them due to discomfort, aesthetics, and high cost. Domestic production of PPE is limited, with many products being imported. This research identifies the reasons for resistance to using PPE among skaters, aiming to develop design recommendations that meet usability principles: efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction. This research was conducted in the following stages: literature review, data collection, result analysis, and verification.
