The construction of the interior designer's scope of work is still in-process content. In recent times there has been a long discussion on immaterial, intangible, and emotional design, among many other forms that aim at new perspectives of projectable scenarios. The present article proposes to present one of the ways to tangibilize the design of environments outside the sphere of traditional design: with design diagnosis. Through the experience report of a commercial action, we tried to approach the market and the academy in order to discuss the importance of the knowledge aligned in the making. The diagnosis is an activity of immersion and reflection on the context to which the designer's gaze is directed, enabling more assertive actions with the set of elements that make up a business.
