Resumo

Atualmente, a própria Pesquisa em Design tem sido tomada como objeto de estudo, considerando o cenário de expansão da área. No presente trabalho, são levantados o escopo e objetivos de estudos nacionais e internacionais que conduziram análises quantitativas sobre Pesquisa em Design, são analisados seus métodos de pesquisa e validação e são verificadas suas contribuições epistemológicas. A metodologia adotada é uma Revisão Sistemática de Literatura, com apoio do processo RBS Roadmap. Nos resultados, destaca-se o periódico Design Studies como fonte de pesquisa. Os artigos, exploratórios e descritivos, distinguiram-se pelo foco em temáticas de Design ou em redes de colaboração e citação. As técnicas computacionais como suporte à bibliometria, bem como a análise de rede e de citações, foram recorrentes. Os estudos quantitativos tenderam a focar mais nos métodos e descrição de resultados, e suas dificuldades metodológicas apontam para características do campo, como a preocupação epistemológica e a interdisciplinaridade.

Abstract

Nowadays, in a time of expansion of Design, Design Research itself has been taken as an object of study. In the present work, the scope and objectives of national and international studies that conducted quantitative analysis on Design Research are raised, their research and validation methods are analyzed and their epistemological contributions are verified. The methodology adopted is a Systematic Literature Review, supported by the RBS Roadmap process. In the results, the journal Design Studies stands out as a research source. The articles were exploratory and descriptive, and were distinguished by their focus on Design themes or on collaboration and citation networks. It were recurrent computational techniques as support for bibliometrics, as well as network and citations analysis. The quantitative studies tended to focus more on methods and description of results, and their methodological difficulties point to characteristics of the field, such as epistemological concern and interdisciplinarity.
