Resumo

Este artigo elabora uma reflexão sobre o Fundo documental do Centro Nacional de Referência Cultural (CNRC) preservado no Arquivo Central do Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) em Brasília. Primeiramente, descreve as características de produção, arquivamento e preservação deste acervo, focando sua observação na série de diapositivos "Artesanato com pneus". Em seguida, apresenta uma breve revisão historiográfica, visando uma compreensão mais clara do que vem a ser História Cultural do Design. Busca-se assim revisitar a série preservada no IPHAN, permitindo uma melhor compreensão da sua produção e, assim, auxiliando na sua preservação.

Abstract

This article reflects on the Documentary Fund of the National Cultural Reference Center (CNRC) preserved in the Central Archive of the Instituto of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) in Brasília. First, it describes the characteristics of production, archiving and preservation of this collection, focusing its observation on the series of slides "Crafts with tires". Then, it presents a brief historiographical review, aiming at a clearer understanding of what is the Cultural History of Design. Thus, we seek to revisit the series preserved at IPHAN, allowing a better understanding of its production and, thus, helping its preservation.
