Resumo

Este artigo evidencia a transformação emergente na indústria da moda através da integração de bioplásticos e biodesign, ressaltando a necessidade de práticas mais sustentáveis diante dos desafios impostos pela nova Era Geológica. A pesquisa baseia-se em uma pesquisa bibliográfica e segue uma metodologia experimental rigorosa, utilizando alginato de sódio como principal material alternativo ao couro animal ou sintético. Além disso, aborda a importância de educar a comunidade sobre práticas de produção e uso sustentável de roupas, propondo uma nova aliança entre design e natureza. A análise destaca os potenciais benefícios dos biomateriais para mitigar os impactos do uso dos materiais sintéticos na indústria da moda. Conclui-se que, embora existam desafios técnicos e econômicos, a continuidade na pesquisa e a inovação em biomateriais são fundamentais para promover um futuro mais sustentável e equitativo na moda.

Abstract

This article highlights the emerging transformation in the fashion industry through the integration of bioplastics and biodesign, emphasizing the need for more sustainable practices in the face of challenges imposed by the new Geological Era. The research is based on a literature review and follows a rigorous experimental methodology, using sodium alginate as the primary alternative material to animal or synthetic leather. Additionally, it addresses the importance of educating the community about sustainable clothing production and usage practices, proposing a new alliance between design and nature. The analysis underscores the potential benefits of biomaterials in mitigating the impacts of synthetic materials in the fashion industry. It concludes that, despite technical and economic challenges, ongoing research and innovation in biomaterials are essential for promoting a more sustainable and equitable future in fashion.
