Abstract

Studies regarding Industry 4.0 (I4.0) point out benefits involving productivity and efficiency in an automated and interconnected industrial operation. However, there are gaps remaining when it comes to the pathways for implementing the proposed technologies, as well as understanding the new roles of humans in this industrial era. At the same time, the concept of Industry 5.0 (I5.0), still in its infancy, proposes human-machine integration and a new perspective on the use of digital applications, considering ethical principles of production that were not addressed by I4.0. Therefore, the aim of this article is to conceptualize Industry 5.0, in comparison with Industry 4.0, and identify its advancements and impacts on the fashion supply chain. To achieve this, a Systematic Literature Review was conducted, resulting in the extraction of 23 readings from the Portal de Periódicos Capes. The results indicated the complementarity of these revolutions, and possible technological applications and human skills for the mentioned industry are listed, based on three pillars: humanization, resilience, sustainability.
