Abstract

This study addresses the issue of (in)accessibility faced by people with disabilities (PwDs) in interacting with digital content and solutions, correlating the fields of Accessibility and Cognitive Ergonomics (CE). Research on Digital Accessibility encompasses accessibility analyses, error identification, best practice recommendations, and evaluations of governmental and university websites, focusing on user experience. A bibliographic study was conducted to investigate the intersection between digital accessibility and cognitive ergonomics. Despite the scarcity of publications centered on digital accessibility from the perspective of cognitive ergonomics, there is a strong relationship between this discipline and design, especially from the standpoint of the end-user experience. It is proposed to direct cognitive ergonomic analysis towards software development professionals, aiming to understand and mitigate barriers in constructing accessible IT solutions, thus contributing to digital inclusion.
