Resumo

O presente artigo discute a responsabilidade do designer frente ao desafio do desenvolvimento sustentável, especialmente na civilização tecnológica. Para tanto, são explicitados estes conceitos (desenvolvimento sustentável e civilização tecnológica). Após, é postulada a responsabilidade do designer de antecipar as conseqüências para a sustentabilidade dos seus projetos. Por fim, são apresentados o design ecológico e os aspectos da sustentabilidade a serem desenvolvidos nos projetos.

Abstract

The present paper discusses the responsibility of designer facing the challenge of sustainable development, especially in technological civilization. Therefore, those concepts (sustainable development and technological civilization) are explicated. After, it is postulated the designer’s responsibility of anticipating the consequences for sustainability of his/her projects. Finally, ecological design and aspects of sustainability to be developed in projects are presented.
