Resumo

A proposta deste estudo é discutir as características do livro‑álbum, uma linguagem híbrida, que desafia os limites da literatura, da arte e do design, em que todos os elementos constitutivos, até mesmo os menores indícios, significam. Seu significado é tecido na composição de palavra, imagem e design, convidando assim a um outro modo de ler, em que a compreensão se vale de sentidos que vão além da visão, considerando o pensamento de Michel Melot, Wolfgang Iser, Perry Nodelman, David Lewis, Odilon Moraes e Fernando Zaparaín, entre outros.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the features of picturebooks, a hybrid language which tests the boundaries of literature, art and design, in which all the constitutive elements are meaningful, no matter how small. Their meaning is woven into words, images and design, suggesting a different form of reading, in which understanding is achieved through senses that go beyond vision. It draws on the ideas of Michel Melot, Wolfgang Iser, Perry Nodelman, David Lewis, Odilon Moraes and Fernando Zaparaín, to name but a few;
